Global Food Ingredient Supplier Seeks Chemical-Resistant, Conductive Flooring
A prominent global manufacturer and supplier of food ingredient solutions sought to improve their production facility in Barcelona, Spain, with a chemical-resistant flooring solution. Routine exposure to substances such as milk acid and corrosive chemicals and solvents had damaged the floor. Spain’s governmental regulations also required the new flooring to be conductive to ensure employee safety.

Forward-Looking Solutions for Operational Infrastructure
Stonhard proposed using a combination of products that would protect the floor from deterioration, provide a clean and easily maintainable surface, and meet essential static control specifications. Stonset TG6 grout, Stonclad UT polyurethane flooring and the Stonchem 821 vinyl ester lining were installed over 2,000 sq. ft. throughout the facility. The result delivered the necessary protection against aggressive chemicals, highlighting the manufacturer’s commitment to forward-looking solutions in their operational infrastructure.
